ABRAHCT — Associação Brasileira de Hospitais e Clínicas de Transição

Our members

The institutions that make up the association. If you are looking for a place for a relative, contact is made directly with each one of them.

ABRAHCT does not admit patients.

The association represents and brings together the institutions in the sector. It has no beds, does no screening, does not schedule admissions and does not reserve places. Choosing a unit, checking whether places are available and arranging the terms of admission are handled directly with each institution, through its own channels.

For families

How to get a place.

If a relative of yours is being discharged from hospital and the doctor mentioned post-acute care, the path has three steps.

  1. 1

Talk to the medical team caring for the patient

A referral to a post-acute care and rehabilitation hospital is a medical decision, and the conversation usually starts while the patient is still admitted to the acute care hospital, before discharge.

  2. 2

Contact the institution you have chosen

The place and the terms of admission are arranged directly with each institution, through its own channels. ABRAHCT does not make that contact on the patient's behalf.

  3. 3

    Confirm cover before the admission

Cover depends on the contract and on the health plan operator. It is the operator and the institution that confirm it, before the patient is admitted.

Who makes it up

Member institutions.

Each card opens the institution's own website, which is where contact is made. This list shows the members that have already sent a logo and is still being consolidated: today all thirteen full members are listed, with units in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Bahia and the Federal District. If you are looking for a place in another state, ask the social work team at the hospital where the patient is admitted, and ask your health plan operator: they are the ones who know the network in each region. To confirm whether an institution is a member, write to abrahct@abrahct.org.br.

In the survey released in August 2023, ABRAHCT represented 72% of the post-acute care hospitals in the market, in a sector with 2,745 dedicated beds across the country.
